Lets imagine that you sell products and each couple of months you produce a catalogue with all the items listed in it. Now all your catalogues have just been delivered to you and you get ready to do your usual mail shot to existing and new customers. No problems there. Until that is the office junior points out a massive pricing problem on page 36! If you send these out as is your company stands to loose money or upset your customers who obviously will be falling over each other to buy these products!
Unless you are prepared to delay the dispatch of your catalogues and go to the expense of a print run what more can you do?
Well you could use an include page. You could run a flyer of on the office copier and put the flyer between page 35 & 36. A lot less expensive and a lot less work.
But how does this translate to web page design?
By using page includes, you can put any page into any page on your web site!
Mainly page includes are used for banners, footers and navigation menu's. Area's which are the same on every page.
For instance - your company details and copyright notice might well be displayed at the bottom of each page (footer) one day you might move or change your phone number. With page includes you would nip into the include page, change the details, click save and the changes will be made to all web pages that have the include page included in their footer.
Assuming you have a web site? Open it to any page.
Next.... Create a new blank page and on this page, put the content that you want to able to include. Included content can be just about anything. You can style this page or use css. But do not put any content into a table! If you wish to restrict the width of the included content, do this in the page where the include appears. (Your template/master page)
Click on the area where you want the include to be. From your menu click insert and from the dropdown menu select web component.
From the resulting menus select Included Content from the left hand side and Page from the right hand side.

You will then be required to browse to the include page within your web. Select the file and click ok.
Your frontpage include will now be included. Test your page in a browser.
You can have as many includes as you want on a page and one include can be used on many pages as required.
All in all includes offer a very powerful way to alter content thought your site with the minimum of fuss and time.
